City Govt. sends 60 Dumper
Loaders to Thatta.
Karachi: On the directive of Administrator Karachi Fazlur Rehman City
District Government Karachi dispatched 60 dumper loaders to Thatta to
provide help in the repairing of cracks appeared in the bund on Indus
River. 150 buses also reached thatta to evacuate the affectees in the
flood hit area.
Around 3 thousand affectees had reached Karachi by Friday evening who
had been shifted to city government relief camp established in the SITE
Polytechnic Institute.
City
Government Karachi had already made all arrangements for provision
of
accommodation and food to flood affectees. Meanwhile the number of flood
affectees reached in the relief camps of city government Karachi soared
to over 38n thousand till Friday evening who had been provided with all
basic facilities. Administrator Karachi Fazlur Rehman has directed EDO
Health and EDO Municipal Services to ensure better sanitation condition
in the relief camps. He also instructed concerned officials that the
first aid centers set up in relief camps must be equipped with all
necessary facilities and medicines so that immediate help could be
provided to flood affectees.
Administrator Impose Ban
on Cutting of Trees
Karachi:
Administrator City District Government Karachi Fazlur Rehman has imposed
immediate ban on the cutting of trees by any individual / organization /
agency within the limits of City District Karachi.
Under the order Director
General, Parks & Horticulture has been authorized to lodge complaint in
the concerned Police Station against such any individuals, organizations
or agency in case of violation of this Order.
The action has been taken
to save the environment from possible degradation due to cutting of
trees in various areas of city.This Order shall come into force with
immediate effect and shall remain in force for a period of seven days.
Adapt a Camp: Appeals
Administrator Karachi.
Karachi: The total number of flood affectees presently staying in 31
relief camps established by City District Government Karachi reached
over 34 thousand on Thursday. Private welfare organizations and elites
have adopted five camps and the city government was providing all basic
facilities to affectees in rest of the camps.
Administrator Karachi Fazlur Rehman on Wednesday evening paid a detailed
visit of relief camps in different areas of city and met with the
affectees.
On this occasion he assured them all possible help and support from city
government Karachi. He said that the government is making all efforts
for provision of such domestic use items like crockery and cloths to
affectees which they would be able to use after they finally settled.
He said that the business community and citizens of Karachi have
extended all possible cooperation and some of them have also offered
cash help to flood victims but while not accepting this offer we have
requested them to adopt a relief camp or at least donate a plate or
glass to affectees. All these things will be immediately delivered to
the flood affectees.
Administrator Karachi also appealed to the citizens that the affectees
need food items, cutlery and cloths on urgent basis; therefore special
attention should be paid on it so that their immediate requirements
could be fulfilled without delay.
well-known businessman Aqeel Karim Dhedi has adopted the relief camp in
Razzaqabad where 7 thousand flood affectees are staying while the camps
in three schools of Cattle Colony Bin Qasim Town with 1143 affectees has
been adopted by Arts Council of Pakistan Secretary Ahmed Shah and the
Sailani Welfare Trust has accepted the responsibility of providing food
to 8860 affectees in the relief camp of Gadap Town.
