City Govt. sends 60 Dumper Loaders to Thatta.
Karachi: On the directive of Administrator Karachi Fazlur Rehman City District Government Karachi dispatched 60 dumper loaders to Thatta to provide help in the repairing of cracks appeared in the bund on Indus River. 150 buses also reached thatta to evacuate the affectees in the flood hit area.
Around 3 thousand affectees had reached Karachi by Friday evening who had been shifted to city government relief camp established in the SITE Polytechnic Institute.
City Government Karachi had already made all arrangements for provision
of accommodation and food to flood affectees. Meanwhile the number of flood affectees reached in the relief camps of city government Karachi soared to over 38n thousand till Friday evening who had been provided with all basic facilities. Administrator Karachi Fazlur Rehman has directed EDO Health and EDO Municipal Services to ensure better sanitation condition in the relief camps. He also instructed concerned officials that the first aid centers set up in relief camps must be equipped with all necessary facilities and medicines so that immediate help could be provided to flood affectees.

Administrator Impose Ban on Cutting of Trees 

Karachi: Administrator City District Government Karachi Fazlur Rehman has imposed immediate ban on the cutting of trees by any individual / organization / agency within the limits of City District Karachi.

Under the order Director General, Parks & Horticulture has been authorized to lodge complaint in the concerned Police Station against such any individuals, organizations or agency in case of violation of this Order.

The action has been taken to save the environment from possible degradation due to cutting of trees in various areas of city.This Order shall come into force with immediate effect and shall remain in force for a period of seven days.

 

Adapt a Camp: Appeals Administrator Karachi.
Karachi: The total number of flood affectees presently staying in 31 relief camps established by City District Government Karachi reached over 34 thousand on Thursday. Private welfare organizations and elites have adopted five camps and the city government was providing all basic facilities to affectees in rest of the camps.
Administrator Karachi Fazlur Rehman on Wednesday evening paid a detailed visit of relief camps in different areas of city and met with the affectees.
On this occasion he assured them all possible help and support from city government Karachi. He said that the government is making all efforts for provision of such domestic use items like crockery and cloths to affectees which they would be able to use after they finally settled.
He said that the business community and citizens of Karachi have extended all possible cooperation and some of them have also offered cash help to flood victims but while not accepting this offer we have requested them to adopt a relief camp or at least donate a plate or glass to affectees. All these things will be immediately delivered to the flood affectees.
Administrator Karachi also appealed to the citizens that the affectees need food items, cutlery and cloths on urgent basis; therefore special attention should be paid on it so that their immediate requirements could be fulfilled without delay.
well-known businessman Aqeel Karim Dhedi has adopted the relief camp in Razzaqabad where 7 thousand flood affectees are staying while the camps in three schools of Cattle Colony Bin Qasim Town with 1143 affectees has been adopted by Arts Council of Pakistan Secretary Ahmed Shah and the Sailani Welfare Trust has accepted the responsibility of providing food to 8860 affectees in the relief camp of Gadap Town.

 

CDGK Removes Illegal Goths from Gadap  Town

City District Government Karachi has launched stern action against land mafia in Gadap Town to remove all illegal Goths that have been established on government land.
The anti encroachments drive performed under the supervision of District Officer Revenue Shokat Jokhio was continued till 10 pm on Thursday during which a around 320 acres of government land had been recovered after demolishing 13 illegal Goths.
The anti encroachments team has in last few days cleared more than 1500 acres of government land from the occupation of land mafia. On Thursday they razed the whole boundary wall of 13 illegal Goths in Deh Nagan and Deh Jam Chakro. Land mafia had recently claimed that these Goths were many years old on which City Government conducted a detailed survey of the area which revealed that the land mafia was busy in overnight establishing of Goths with various names to take up the government land. City Government has started action against this practice.
District Officer Shoukat Jokhio has said that the action against illegal Goths will continue and the city government will recover every inch of government land.He further said that leased and recognized Goths should not feel any danger from this action as only illegal and unrecognized Goths will be removed during the campaign.
He said that the local police and rangers have also been coordinated for the action against land mafia.
He also directed all DDOs Revenue to ensure full monitoring of their area and never allow anyone to inhabit government land, adding that the concerned officer will also have to face action if any government land within his jurisdiction is occupied by land mafia.

Karachi. July 13: The governing body of Malir Development Authority gave approval of MDA annual budget of Rs12, 296.418million for fiscal year 2010-11 during a meeting chaired by Administrator Karachi Fazlur Rehman in DCO Camp Office on Tuesday.
In the MDA budget Rs11,66,2.20 million have been allocated for development expenditures while the non development expenditures have been estimated as Rs462.640million showing a surplus of Rs171.576million.
The governing body discussed various budget heads in detail before unanimously approving the budget.
On this occasion MDA Director Amirzada Kohati gave details of the expected income and expenditures of Malir Development Authority in various residential schemes during fiscal year 2010-2011.
Administrator Karachi addressing the meeting said that the government had desired to allot residential and commercial plots to citizens on low rates, so the MDA must provide better infrastructure to allottees in its schemes.
He said that the purpose for establishing MDA should fulfill. Administrator Karachi on this occasion also gave approval of the payment of Rs160million to KWSB and Rs680million to KESC for Malir Housing Scheme.He also directed to provide utility services including water and electricity in the MDA Schemes.

The governing body of Karachi Institute of Heart Diseases has decided to add 10 more beds in the CCU of the Institute. A four member committee headed by EDO Finance & Planning has also been formed to bring improvement in the financial matters and timely provision of medicines. The committee would submit its findings within a week to Administrator Karachi.
The governing body meeting was held on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Administrator Karachi Fazlur Rehman in KIHD. Earlier the Administrator Karachi inspected Coronary Care Unit and other departments of Karachi Institute of Heart Diseases.
The meeting was attended by EDO Health Dr. Shahab Imam, Executive Director of KIHD Dr. Abdus Samad, Deputy Executive Director Siraj-ul-Haq Tariq, Deputy Director Admin Rashid Subzwari and other members of governing body.
Administrator Karachi addressing the meeting said that the medical institutions held top priority in the preference list of City Government. Problems facing by Abbasi Shaheed Hospital and KIHD will be solved first as these organizations have a direct link with the people.
He said that already a stock of 3 month’s medicines was provided to all medical institutions of city government while formalities for further medical supplies were underway.
Administrator Karachi said that we are continuously trying to improve the revenue condition of city government so that the problems of citizens could be solved at the earliest but it needs better resources condition. He said that already medicines worth Rs20million out of the batch of Rs60million supplies were provided to Karachi Institute of Heart Diseases and action is being taken to supply more medicines and other necessities to this important institute. He also announced the exemption of economy cut in the current budget of KIHD.
