The Society for Promotion of Arabic Language (SPAL) was established in February 1973 for the purpose of popularizating the Language of Holy Quran and of our Exalted Prophet(Peace be upon Him), in the metropolitan city of Karachi. The society has been registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860. Since its inception it has conducted regular courses to equip the desiring individuals with the language skills for different levels of proficiency. The Society has all along tried to spread the knowledge of Arabic language usingup-to-date techniques and skills of linguistic education. PU research spending enhanced to Rs.50 million

LAHORE: Punjab University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran has stated that spending on research has been substantially enhanced from the previous Rs.4.00 million to Rs.50.00 million in the current year's budget to promote high quality research work in the Punjab University.
He was addressing the students, research workers and senior faculty members after inaugurating a newly-upgraded computer lab in the Department of Mathematics in New Campus here on Thursday. Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Jamil Anwar Ch. , Chairman Mathematics Department Prof Dr Shahid Saeed Siddiqi and Incharge Computer Center Prof Dr Muhammad Sharif also addressed the audience.
Vice-Chancellor said that state-of the-art facilities and latest equipment is being installed in PU laboratories to facilitate advance studies as well as promote research work and creation of new knowledge for socio-economic development of the country. He said presently there are 641 regular faculty members, out of whom only 33.7 percent are PhD holders. He said it was his mission and dream to bring this ratio to at least 70 to 80 percent so that varsity could play an exemplary leadership role in boosting academic and research excellence. He urged upon the young lecturers and Assistant Professors to get themselves enrolled with foreign varsities for doctorate degrees. He remarked that the academic performance and research output of those varsity departments having larger number of PhDs is immensely greater than the remaining ones. The population of Egypt is 50 percent of Pakistan but their number of PhDs is far greater as compared to us. He regretted that at present we are spending 2 percent of our Rs.170 billion GDP on education, out of which 0.2 percent is allocated for R&D. He said while the rulers are recklessly raising budgetary allocations on politically motivated schemes, the target of raising education expenditure to a minimum of four percent of GDP has so far existed on paper only. Dr Kamran further observed that the Holy Quran puts the highest emphasis on importance of acquiring knowledge as the very first revelation received by the Holy Prophet starts with the word “read”. Today the number of Muslims in the world is 1.50 billion but they are bereft of all political, socio-economic and educational power because they have given up the pursuit of seeking knowledge and research. He said we cannot solicit divine blessings only by observing the ritual of offering verbal prayers five times a day and violating the Holy Quran injunctions in day to day dealings with our fellow beings during the rest of the day. It is obligatory on every Muslim to abide by the Almighty commandments in whatever posture of life he finds himself. The Vice-Chancellor paid glowing tributes to the Chairman Mathematics Department and his colleague faculty members who have transformed Mathematics Department in to one of the excellent varsity departments.

کراچی( جیوے پاکستان ) اینگرو گروپ کے چیف فنانس آفیسرروحیل محمد نے کہا ہے کہ حکومت پاکستان کی جانب سے فٹلائزر انڈسٹریز کو گیس کے نرخوں پر فراہم کی جانے والی سبسڈی کا براہ راست فائدہ کسانوں کو منتقل ہورہا ہے۔کیونکہ درآمد شدہ یوریاکھاد اُنہیں 350ڈالر فی ٹن کے حساب سے دستیاب ہے جبکہ اینگرو گروپ وہی کھادکسانوں کو 180ڈالر فی ٹن کے حساب سے فراہم کررہا ہے ۔ان خیالات کا اظہار انہوں نے KASBITیونیورسٹی کے دورے کے موقع پر طلباء سے خطاب اوراۃن کے سوالوں کے جواب میں بتائی ۔انہوں نے کہا کہ حکومت ہمیںیوریا کھاد تیار کرنے پر گیس کے نرخوں میں فی ٹن70ڈالر کی سبسڈی فراہم کررہی ہے ۔جو اگر ختم کردی جائے تو ہم کسانوں کو 250ڈالر فی ٹن کے حساب سے یوریا کھاد فراہم کرئیں گے۔تاہم یہ رقم بھی امپورٹ شدہ یوریا کھاد کے مقابلے میں 100ڈالر فی ٹن کم ہوگی۔روحیل محمد نے مزید بتایا کہ حکومت پاکستان کی جانب سے فٹلائزر انڈسٹریز کو گیس کے نرخوں پر فراہم کی جانے والی سبسڈی سے ہم پاکستانی کسانوں کو گذشتہ پانچ سالوں کے دوران 260ملین ڈالر کا فائدہ فراہم کرچکے ہیں۔۔اُنہوں نے چانسلر KASBITٰیونیورسٹی سید عارف علی شاہ بخاری اورڈائریکٹر علی عباس عابدی کے ویژن کی تعریف کی اور کہا کہ ان کی تعلیم وتربیت کا جذبہ عمدہ اور اعلی ہے ہمیں ایسے لوگوں کی ضرورت ہے۔بعد ازاں پوزیشن ہولڈر طلباء میں اسناد تقسیم کیں۔بعد ازاں سید علی عباس عابدی نے روحیل محمد کا یونیورسٹی آمد پر اُن کا شکریہ ادا کیا۔

 

Usman Institute Governing Body meets at Institute Office
Charter is the issue of Hamdard University and its Board of Governors – Board decides
It is necessary to explain the news publish about the charter of Usman Institute that this institute is a part Hamdard University from its inauguration, as no other department and part has right to demand on its own, a separate charter, it would be like for instance any department of Karachi University writing letter to government on its own, demanding charger.

Usman Institute governing body (Majlish-e-Aamila) meeting was held in this regard at Usman Institute ‘s office few days ago and it was decided with consensus that charter issue is the issue of Hamdard University and its Board of Governors and it they think so they can talk with the people in Usman Memorial foundation and can present their terms, apart from no other institution, foundation or committee has right to contact government for Usman Institute’s charter. This has been stated to government department of education and in the presence of contract between Hamdard University and Usman Memorial foundation, which is cannot be cancelled, one has no to demand charter for Usman Institute.
