برطانیہ کے ڈپٹی ہائی کمیشن رابرٹ ڈبلیو گبسن نے کہا کہ برطانیہ پاکستان میں سے تجارتی لین دین میں اضافے سمیت سرمایہ کاری میں بھی دلچسپی رکھتا ہے کراچی(اسٹاف رپورٹر) گزشتہ روز وفاق ایوان ہائے صنعت وتجارت (FPCCI) کے دور ے کے موقع پرکراچی میں تعینات برطانیہ کے ڈپٹی ہائی کمیشن رابرٹ ڈبلیو گبسن نے کہا کہ برطانیہ پاکستان میں سے تجارتی لین دین میں اضافے سمیت سرمایہ کاری میں بھی دلچسپی رکھتا ہے تاہم پاکستان میں سرمایہ کاری کن کن سیکٹرز میں کی جاسکتی ہے اسکی نشاندہی کی جائے تاکہ زیادہ سے زیادہ سرمایہ کاروں کو آگاہی فراہم کی جاسکے اس موقع پر ایف پی سی سی آئی کے قائم مقام صدر محمد منشاء چھرا، انڈوپاک چیمبر آف کامرس کے صدر ایس ایم منیر،نائب صدر ایف پی سی سی آئی ممتاز شیخ،ہارون رشید،ہمایوں سعید،ناصر الدین شیخ،اقبال پاک والا ،قائم مقام سیکرٹری جنرل میر ناصر عباس اور ناصر مرزابھی موجود تھے ، ایف پی سی سی آئی کے قائم مقام صدر منشاء چھرا نے برطانوی ڈپٹی ہائی کمیشن رابرٹ گبسن کو خوش آمدید کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ پاکستان میں انرجی،زراعت ،فشریز ،ٹیکسٹائل اور لیدر سیکٹرز میں سرمایہ کاری کے پرکشش مواقع موجود ہیں انہوں نے کہا کہ پاکستان اور برطانیہ کے مابین تجارتی حجم اور لین دین میں اضافے کے لیے دونوں ممالک کی جانب سے تجارتی وفود کے تبادلے اور نمائشوں کا انعقاد بے حد ضروری ہے انہوں نے کہا کہ پاکستان دنیا کا سرمایہ کاری کرنے کے لیے بہترین ملک ہے جہاں سرمایہ کاراور بین الاقوامی کمپنیاں بہترین منافع حاصل کررہی ہیں اس موقع پر ایس ایم منیر نے کہا کہ تاجر وصنعتکار برادری کو برطانیہ کے کاروبای ویزے سمیت دیگر مسائل کا سامنا رہتا ہے لہذا تاجر وصنعتکار برادری کو ملٹی پل ویزے کی فراہمی کے اقدامات کیے جائیں تاکہ دوطرفہ تجارتی لین کو فروغ دیا جاسکے ،ایف پی سی سی آئی کے نائب صدر ممتازشیخ نے کہا کہ برطانیہ اور پاکستان کے مابین مختلف سیکٹرز میں جوائنٹ وینچرز بھی کیے جاسکتے ہیں انہوں نے کہاکہ پاکستان کو اسوقت شدید بارشوں اور سیلابی ریلے کے باعث شدید مشکلات سے دوچار ہے جس کے لیے بیرونی امداد کو بڑھانے کی ضرورت ہے تاکہ زیادہ سے زیادہ متاثرین سیلاب زدگان کو امداد کی فراہمی کو ممکن بنایا جاسکے۔

چمڑے کی صنعت متاثر اور مصنوعات کی برآمدات میں30 فی صد تک کمی کا خدشہ ہے۔

کراچی(اسٹاف رپورٹر) پاکستان لیدر گارمنٹس مینوفیکچررز اینڈ ایکسپورٹرز ایسوسی ایشن کے چیئرمین چوہدری ذوالفقار نے میڈیا سے بات چیت میں بتایا سیلاب کے باعث جانوروں کی ہلاکت سے1 ارب ڈالر کی چمڑے کی صنعت متاثر اور مصنوعات کی برآمدات میں30 فی صد تک کمی کا خدشہ ہے۔کہ اس سال سیلاب سے جانوروں کی ہلاکتوں کے باعث کھالوں کے حصول میں15۔20 فیصد کی کمی ہوگی جس سے برآمدات میں30 فی صد تک کمی ہو سکتی ہے۔ ان کا کہنا تھا کہ اب مقامی مارکیٹ میں بھی چمڑے کی مصنوعات مہنگی ہوں گی جو پہلے ہی لوگوں کی قوت خرید سے باہر تھیں۔ چوہدری ذوالفقار نے مزید بتایا کہ چمڑے مصنوعات کی صنعت کے لیے خام مال کی درآمدات وقت پرکرنا ضروری ہوگا اور ساتھ ہی جانوروں کی اسمگلنگ کی روک تھام بھی ضروری ہے۔

کراچی(اسٹاف رپورٹر)۔ اس وقت مقامی مارکیٹ میں چینی کی سپلائی میں کمی کی وجہ سے 6اضافے کے بعد چینی کی قیمت 76روپئے فی کلو کی بلند تریں سطح پر پہنچ گئی ہے مونگ کی دال 170روپئے اور چنے کی دال روپئے فی کلو بک رہی ہے خد شہ ظاہر کیا جارہا ہے کہ منافع خور سیلاب کی تباہ کاریوں اور سپلائی میں کمی کو بنیاد بنا کراجناس اور اشیاخوردونوش کی قیمتوں میں معنوعی اضافہ کر دیں گے پاکستان دنیا کا سب سے زیادہ غذائی اشیاء برآمد کرنے والا تیسرا بڑا ملک ہے لیکن سیلاب کی وجہ سے برآمد کندگان بھی مایوس ہیں اجناس کی کھڑی فصلیں تباہ ہوگئی ہیں۔اس کے اثرات مقامی مارکیٹ پر پڑنا شروع ہو گئے ہیں مقامی مارکیٹ مین جہاں منافع خور سیلاب کی تباہ کاریوں کو بنیاد بنا کراجناس اور اشیاخوردونوش کی قیمتوں میں معنوعی اضافہ کر رہے ہیں اس امصنوعی اضافے سے جہاں مہنگائی میں ہوشربا اضافہ ہو رہا وہی عوام کی جیب پر بھی دباؤ میں اضافہ ہورہا ہے

PSO posts profit amidst grave financial challenges
Pakistan State Oil delivered strong results for the financial year 2010 by achieving after tax earnings of Rs. 9.05 billion as compared to a loss after tax of Rs. 6.7 billion during financial year 2009. The announcement followed a Board of Management (BoM) review of the Company is performance in a meeting held on August 6, 2010 at PSO House. The Board meeting was chaired by Mr. Nazim F. Haji.

During FY10, the Company is sales revenue touched Rs. 877 billion as compared to Rs. 719 billion in the corresponding period last year. Despite financial challenges and economic slow down, PSO maintained its leadership in the White and Black Oil market segments with market shares of 55.3% and 88.2% respectively. Overall, the market share for PSO stood at 71 % during FY10.

In light of the performance of the company, BOM declared a final dividend of Rs. 5 per share. Combined with the earlier interim dividend of Rs. 3 per share, the total dividend for the year stood at Rs. 8 per share translating into a total payout of Rs. 1.37 billion to the shareholders.

PSO sold 14.2 million tons of POL products as compared to 13.2 million tons during the preceding year. In Black Oil, PSO enhanced its market share appreciably from 85.8% in FY09 to 88.2% in FY10. PSO volumes grew by 17.8% in Furnace-Oil (FO) whereas the industry volumes enhanced by 14.6%. The surge was mainly due to increase in demand in power generation sector. PSO despite the mounting circular debt responsibly met the demands of the power sector of the country. The company registered positive volumetric growth of 20.9% in Mogas. However, in HSD, the Company experienced a negative volumetric growth of 9.7% due to economic slow down and circular debt.

The circular debt crisis continued to remain a serious problem as power sector customers continually defaulted on payments during the period under review. As on June 30, 2010, PSO is receivables stood at an alarming figure of Rs. 117.5 billion. Consequently, PSO had to rely on heavy bank borrowings resulting in incurring of financial charges of Rs. 9.9 billion in FY10 as compared to Rs. 6.2 billion in FY09. As of today, the receivables pertaining to circular debt stand at Rs. 130 billion.

As the largest public sector organization in the energy sector, PSO is cognizant of its corporate responsibility and is actively involved in social activities and CSR initiatives that have a long term positive impact on the society. Over the years, the Company has stepped up to the challenges faced by the social sector and has proactively contributed in times of need. In the recent Attaabad lake crisis, PSO provided free medical supplies to landslide victims helping them cope with the physical and psychological trauma of the calamity. Replicating a similar spirit of citizenship, PSO has also donated a dayis salary of all its employees to the PM Flood Relief Fund.

The Board, with its newly appointed chairman, Nazim F. Haji, expressed confidence in the companyis future and in the leadership of Managing Director, Mr. Irfan Qureshi. Given the companyis strengths and the support of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources, the company will continue to overcome all the challenges imposed by the market dynamics and maintain its leadership position within the energy sector. PSO's management vowed to continue making all out efforts in collaboration with GoP for recoveries from the power sector to ensure availability of products in the country and to reduce the impact of financial cost on the Company.

Korangi Association of Trade & Industry (KATI) has established a Flood Relief Camp for the relief and rehabilitation of the victims of the recent floods.
This was stated by the Patron-in-Chief S.M.Muneer & Chairman Razzak Hashim Paracha, in a joint press statement. They said that KATI and the business community of Karachi are standing besides the families of victims in these catastrophic times. They expressed their deepest and sincere condolences to the suffering families who have lost their family members, valuable, property and ready crops depriving them of livelihood.
They appealed to the business community and KATI members to contribute generously by depositing their donations both in cash and kind in Korangi Association of Trade & Industry Flood Relief Camp. Chairman Razzak Hashim Paracha informed that these donations will be dispatched to the affected areas.
He said that KATI's Flood Relief Camp will be operational for next 10 days and it will be ascertained by KATI that relief goods viz. medicines, food items, tents, clothing, and other basic necessities will be handed over to the deserving victims.

کراچی (اسٹاف رپورٹر)ان خیالات کا اظہار انہوں نے مختلف تاجر انجمنوں اور مارکیٹیں الائنسوں کے رہنماؤں سے اپنے دفتر میں ملاقات کے دوران کیا۔ قبل ازیں متاثرہ مارکیٹوں کے سیکڑوں ملازمین سے بھی ایسوسی ایشن کے دفتر کے باہر احتجاج کیا۔ ذیشان فتانی نے کہا کہ پیپلز پارٹی سندھ کے جنرل سیکریٹری تاج حیدر نے سانحہ یوم عاشور کے بعد متاثرہ مارکیٹوں کے ملازمین کے حوالے سے یقین د لایا تھا کہ سندھ حکومت ان ملازمین کو3 ماہ کی تنخواہیں ادا کرینگی اور ایسوسی ایشن نے دیگر تاجر الائنسوں کے ساتھ مل کر ان ملازمین کے کوائف کی مکمل فہرست ان کے حوالے کردی تھی۔ تاہم کئی ماہ گزر جانے کے باوجود ان ملازمین کے حوالے سے سندھ حکومت سنجیدگی کا مظاہرہ نہیں کر رہی جبکہ ان متاثرہ مارکیٹوں کی از سر نو تعمیر میں بھی ٹال مٹول سے کام لیا جا رہا ہے۔ انہوں نے مطالبہ کیا کہ ماہ رمضان سے قبل متاثرہ مارکیٹوں کے ملازمین کو تنخواہیں ادا کی جائیں بصورت دیگر کراچی چیمبر آف کامرس اور وزیر اعلیٰ ہاؤس کے باہر دھرنا دیا جائے گا۔

Hinopak will ship 25 buses costing Rs160m this month to Emirates Transport for school and staff segments

KARACHI: Hinopak is planning to export buses and trucks to the Middle East and Africa to help reduce the country’s trade deficit, said the company’s CEO, Hideya Lijima. The company has a 65 per cent share in truck and bus manufacturing in Pakistan.
Hinopak is planning to take annual exports to 400 buses, earning $30 million per year for the country, said Deputy General Manager Hinopak, Ahmed Rauf. He added that production of 25 buses for export cost Rs160 million. They were speaking at a ceremony organised to celebrate the first batch of exports on Tuesday.

Hinopak, established in 1986, will ship 25 buses this month to Emirates Transport for school and staff segments.
Lijima mentioned that the buses were designed taking the UAE and its geography, climate and economy into consideration. “Export of buses and trucks from Pakistan to the Middle East and Africa will help reduce trade imbalance,” he said.
“The company is striving to continuously tap prospective markets of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, Kuwait, Egypt, Bahrain, UAE, Jordan, Panama, Mozambique and Costa Rica,” said the company’s Director Sales and Marketing, Muhammad Irfan Sheikh. “Japanese experts inspect the buses before they are exported. Maintaining standards of quality is always our first priority,” Sheikh added.
Sheikh said that export of vehicles will have a good impact on Pakistan’s automobile industry. Besides, the increase in the company’s production capacity will help improve local worker expertise and experience.
“Hinopak Motors has the government’s full support in its endeavour to increase the export capacity,” said Chief Executive of Trade Development Authority of Pakistan, Mohibullah Shah.
“I would like to see exports from present 25 units to 25,000 units in coming years,” he added. “It is an honour for Pakistan and Hinopak to export high performance buses to the competitive market of Middle East,” he added .
Shah reminded everyone that Pakistan has achieved the highest-ever exports in financial year 2009-10, despite difficult financial conditions in and around the world. He added that Hinopak’s achievement was commendable.
